The Man finds himself home… Athens, Greece. I thought I’d make the trip with someone… it’s just me. I arrive at the gate. The baby center Metre. I have to be brave. I walk the long corridor my adopted mother spoke of, the Gotenborg is where I laid. There has been a break, I have an uncle Nicolaos, he voted in Patras – my mother’s name is Areti – in Greek, it means virtue. I stay close, just in case – I pray. I board a red jet boat across the sea to Hydra. I sit down feeling safe. I walk to the back – it’s open, I see the deep blue sea - it hits me, salty, the jet tosses me… I notice a tall lean boy laughing – smoking, enjoying the ride. How will I speak to him… we’re already speaking. I'll ask him where to dive. Photo by Brad Calcaterra. Recommended for: adults, theatre community, LGBTQ community.
