A moving tale of displaced children in the aftermath of WWII. Swept up by US Army units and outfitted as G.I. mascots, three boys are dumped at a displaced person camp after their G.I. units are shipped back to the States. The boys yearn to follow their units "home" to America, but American racism confounds the hopes of one boy with a G.I. sponsor – who happens to be black.
