A butoh piece exploring violence and prejudice against the queer community, using body piercing to challenge the stigma of HIV. Gauged piercing needles will add another textural dimension to the performer’s body. The live imagery of blood and butoh together recall a history of violence, while honoring what connects us as humans. Piercer: Orb. Consultant: Vangeline. Show image by Michael Blase.
