New York, JFK Airport. An elderly Russian émigrée is waiting for her flight to Moscow, her birthplace, having spent the majority of her life abroad. The flight has been delayed, but instead of causing her anxiety, it gives her an opportunity to reminisce about her life. She is unable to control her overflowing emotions, and both she and the audience begin to revisit the intricate paths her life has taken. The play is about yearning for one’s homeland and longing for one’s first love. It’s also about the hope that even though everything seems lost, life might still take an unexpected turn for the better. The story is fiction, but based on true stories recounted by Russian émigrés. Performed in Russian without translation. Director: Ekaterina Ryahovskaya. Producer: Anastasia Guk. Recommended for: all audiences. Links: artist, video.
