The World’s Largest Solo Theatre Festival Begins Its Sixth Season In New York

In its sixth year, United Solo once again breaks its own record of one-person show offerings. The world’s largest solo theatre festival opens on September 17 for a ten-week run, featuring 150 solo productions from six continents. Until its closing night on November 22, the festival will present between two and five shows each day, all at Theatre Row, where United Solo is a resident company, on 42nd Street in New York City.

2015 United Solo Special Award Nominations

United Solo honors performers who have made outstanding contributions to solo theatre. This year’s nominees are Tom Dugan, Cush Jumbo, James Lecesne, Benjamin Scheuer, and Wanda Sykes. As in the past, the recipient of the United Solo Special Award will be announced at the Festival’s Closing Gala. The winner will join an illustrious group of award recipients, including Anna Deavere Smith (2010), Patti LuPone (2011), John Leguizamo (2012), Fiona Shaw (2013), and Billy Crystal (2014).
