2012 United Solo Award Nominations

United Solo is proud to announce the nominees for the annual special uAward, which honors outstanding solo performers. This year, the United Solo Academy has nominated four performers for the uAward: Kathy Griffin in Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony, John Hurt in Krapp’s Last Tape, Hugh Jackman in Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway, and John Leguizamo in Ghetto Klown.

2012 Submissions NOW OPEN

Artists from all over the world are invited to submit their one-man and one-woman productions. A board consisting of the Festival creators and other accomplished artists, will select shows in a vast range of categories, including storytelling, improv, dance, puppetry, multimedia, stand-up, magic, tragedy, comedy, and other forms of solo theatre.

The United Solo Collection on Indie Theater Now

A Seasonal Donation to The Actors Fund

This year again, United Solo Theatre Festival offered its support to The Actors Fund, an organization that helps entertainment professionals who are in need, crisis or transition. Before and after each show at the Festival the audience members were invited to join our fundraising. Both the generosity of our patrons and the involvement of the solo artists made the contribution to The Actors Fund possible.

The 2011 United Solo AWARDS Have Been Announced

United Solo Theatre Festival concluded last night with a closing ceremony at Theatre ROW on 42nd Street in New York City. A crowd of solo artists, special guests, and contributors packed into the theatre to commemorate seventy-seven productions featured this fall. Bill Bowers, the host of the ceremony and a member of the United Solo Academy, announced the 2011 award winners, who were selected from a diverse pool of artists representing eleven countries.
