In Out to Pasture, we go with Jennifer on her journey through relationships, physical changes, and the daily challenges of a woman turning 50.  At turns, thought-provoking and hilarious, Out to Pasture is a raw and relatable glimpse into the private moments and often invisible inner life of a middle-aged woman.

Out to Pasture originated as a monologue written by Michelle Carter for Alison Gilbreath.  Jenny Connors (Director/Producer) was attracted to the humorous, frank message of the monologue. She invited Carter and Gilbreath to collaborate on making Out to Pasture a one-act play for Women’s Theatre Collective.  Out to Pasture premiered at Sutter Street Theatre in November of 2021 in Folsom, California.  It went on to show at The Ooley in Sacramento, CA, The Stage at Burke Junction in Cameron Park, CA, and The Sutter Theater for the Performing Arts in Yuba City, CA.  The show was described as “magnificent,” “delightful,” and “so very touching, real, and funny.” The original monologue became a finalist in the Monologues & Poetry International Film Festival and tied as winner for Best Monologue in the Equity Library Theater of New York Winter 2022 Virtual Play Festival.
