A Midwesterner’s Guide To Not Killing Your Family is a dark comedy about Rosebud, a new mother suffering from postpartum, who finds herself flashing back to her youth when she was haunted by violent, hysterical and sexual fantasies. With a family history of mental health issues, Rosebud is forced to question her own sanity and reality, trying everything she can to rid herself of these horrifying thoughts. It’s not until Rosebud stumbles upon a cheesy, self-help cassette program, with a slew of characters, that she gains hope, and a sense of community. But is it enough to guide Rosebud through her darkest hour? Based on a true story, it tells the outrageous tale of one woman’s determination to define and overcome her anxiety disorder so it doesn’t define her.
