“A Social Activist Comedy,” is written by Kevin J. Chaplin, in order to make statements everyone thinks but will not say. Audiences are calling it “hilarious,” “thought-provoking,” and “profound.” Audience members are seeing it again. Immediate purchase recommended. The Play has different settings, and comical characters emerge from those settings; An Elite Private School in Manhattan, A Rally on 5th Ave, At the International Airport, and at a Wedding in Central Park. Recommended for LGBTQ/ally audiences, and lovers of comedy.
Kevin J. Chaplin is also a Comedian and Improv Performer. Similar to character performers such as; Dave Chapelle, Robin Williams, Peter Sellers, Eddie Murphy, Tracey Ullman, Lily Tomlin, this show is multi-character. Unlike most Hollywood movies, these characters are quirky, have accents, and some are over-the-top. Social Activist Comedy is an alternative to what’s already out there.
Kevin J. Chaplin is an award-winning Comedian (San Diego Comedy Festival) and an award-winning filmmaker. He won Honourable Mentions Best Actor/Best Comedy for “Sugarbaby Trilogy,” and his short film “Corny About Corndogs,” was selected for the Really Latenight Sketchfest. It is recommended to purchase tickets for the first performance and allow time because you will want to see it again.
