Colleen Murphy’s I Wore What When is about Maura a successful career woman on her way to her 40th high school reunion. Maura has never had any interest in attending a reunion. But this year, she feels compelled to make an appearance. She hopes to see her old classmate, Brad.
Maura thoughtfully chooses the perfect outfit for the event and contemplates how to say what she’s been wanting to say to Brad for some time. She wants to tell him that she is sorry for what happened to him, sorry for the sexual abuse he endured at the hands of their parish priests.
When Maura arrives at the reunion, Brad is one of the first classmates to greet her. While the event goes on around them, Maura and Brad spend the time together, sharing details about their lives, the world, and of course, his abuse. Maura listens intently to Brad’s story. And she reveals memories of her own, memories laced together by what she wore when …
