Neil O’Shea in ‘An Evening with Great Irish Writers.’
‘An Evening with Great Irish Writer’ is a one-person show with excerpts from just that – some of the former great writers from Ireland. It is an excellent mix of humor and pathos and is performed in a simple way with Neil taking on various characters. Writers include:
Jonathan Swift, W. B. Yeats, Oscar Wilde, Bernard Shaw, J.M. Synge, Sean O’Casey, James Joyce, Seamus Heaney and others.
Neil has performed the show in Ireland, Britain, Germany and the USA, but never in New York City. It is an excellent mix of humor and pathos and is performed in a simple way with Neil taking on various characters.
The show has received glowing reviews in the Irish Times, the Los Angeles Times and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023.
Apart from two runs in Los Angeles, Neil has done a 15 venue tour with the Irish American Cultural Institute, has done the show at numerous universities in the US during residencies, and has even performed it on invitation at Netflix in Los Angeles.
