“A Love Song to New York City” documents in poem and song my 37-year adventure in NYC.
I arrived by accident on St Patrick’s Day in 1989 and never left. After years of wandering the earth, I finally found a home. These songs are a tribute to my dearest love, New York City!
This production encompasses three central themes: the history of NYC and its people, small-town kids and their big dreams, and the challenge of staying sane in the fastest changing city on the planet.
Accompanied by Czech violinist, Pavel Cingl, Lorraine Leckie and her acoustic guitar will lead you through visuals, spoken word, and music. The songs are heartbreakingly sad, splendidly funny, and sometimes downright dangerous! Leckie is a very interactive performer and often the audience becomes part of the production.
