Driven by a hunger no knowledge can satisfy, Dr. Faust makes a pact with the devil. Mephistopheles promises him a life of boundless pleasure, power, and experience—if Faust will one day surrender his soul. What begins as a thrilling escape from the limits of human understanding soon spirals into a story of desire, manipulation, and devastating consequence.
Among those caught in Faust’s path is a young woman, whose life becomes entangled in his pursuit of fulfillment. Yet his striving does not end there: Faust presses onward, seeking influence, beauty, and ultimately control over the forces of nature itself—each step revealing the widening gap between human ambition and human responsibility.
In this bold solo adaptation of Goethe’s Faust I and II, Max Pfnür performs all roles, transforming seamlessly between Faust, Mephistopheles, and a multitude of voices. Intimate and epic at once, the performance conjures an entire world through a single body on stage. An immersive reimagining of a timeless story—about temptation, power, and the cost of wanting too much.
