Part stand-up, part cultural exorcism, Killing Janet is a darkly comic solo show about identity, reinvention, and the cost of belonging.
A first-generation Nigerian-American woman goes on live TV to “kill” her missionary-given name and everything it represents. Set inside a surreal game show where the audience helps decide the verdict, the piece explores faith, assimilation, family legacy, performance, and the conflicting forces that shape who we become.
But as the game unfolds, the verdict becomes far less simple than it first appears.
Blending comedy, theatrical transformation, and audience participation, Killing Janet invites audiences into a story of liberation, contradiction, and self-authorship.
