Elisa Brown returns to her Texas roots in Hoodwinked from Heaven – an original, down-home show she wrote at the request of her late father, Bill, who suffered with Alzheimer’s. Although he always supported Elisa’s international career in classical music, Bill used to jokingly call the classics “long-haired music” – preferring the works of Hank Williams or Patsy Cline.
But when Bill began to slip further and further into heartbreaking cognitive decline, he asked Elisa to write some country and Americana songs just for him – he was afraid he would forget her. How could Elisa say no? She couldn’t!
Hearing these songs helped refresh the memory of his and her Texas adventures – not to mention their colorful cast of family characters. This delightful country cabaret is a smorgasbord of family yore that spans over a century of history served up alongside an array of musical styles and genres to complement each story Elisa dishes out!
