A Special two-act celebration of the talent, dedication and bravery of our festival artists.
Act I:
“Remembering My Dreams: The Michele Brourman Songbook.” In this theatrical concert, performer Wendy-Lane Bailey and director Omar Sangare enter the world of composer Michele Brourman. There we find lush tones, universal stories, and vivid imagery. In her music, dreams and reality intertwine and the bright light of day becomes a canvas highlighting the shapes and colors of our imagination. The future is not a destination, but for those who look beyond the frame of reality it is possible to re-imagine our lives in the present, shedding the weight of our past and soaring to new heights.
Act lI:
United Solo Awards Ceremony: The second half of the evening focuses on the artists who make United Solo a destination for performers and audiences across the world. Our season-ending awards ceremony recognizes outstanding productions from our 15th season at Theatre Row. We will also be giving the United Solo Special Award to an artist from outside the festival whose work has brought new insight and attention to the art of solo performance. This years nominees are Lewis Black. Dee Dee Bridgewater, Charles Busch, Liz Callaway, Alex Edelman, Judy Gold, James T. Lane, Trevor Noah, Nancy Redmond & Wanda Sykes.
